VISA : A visitor’s visa is normally granted for a period of two weeks to one month upon arrival, to almost all holders of a valid passport, with one or two exceptions. Visitors are strongly recommended to contact the Passport and Immigration Office in Mauritius or the nearest Mauritian Embassy or Consulate.

Best time to Travel : The best time to visit is between
the cooler months of July and December when the temperatures are mild, rainfall is minimal and humidity is bearable.

Bodies are pierced with needles, tongues and cheeks with pins, devotees in a trance carry the ‘Cavadi’ on their shoulders as a penitence. The ‘Cavadi’ is a wooden arch, covered with flowers and with a pot of milk at each end.Divali The Festival of Lights is celebrated in a spirit of pure joy, in the month of October or November. Mauritius is a delightful destination. Begin with the capital and the country’s largest port, Port Louis.
