An exciting jeep safari through the rugged mountains of the mighty Himalayas. Travelling through Uttranchal and three districts of the state of Himachal Pradesh namely Kinnaur, Spiti and Lahul. This jeep safari offers a whole variety of landscapes, religions and places of historical importance. Here nature’s beauty is totally unspoilt and unaffected by urban influences.

Best Season: April to October

Day 01    Delhi (R)

Arrive Delhi and check in the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02    Delhi – Rishikesh (R)

Drive to Rishikesh (230 km / 06 hrs). Arrive Rishikesh and check in the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03    Rishikesh – Chopta (L, D)

Drive to Chopta from Rishikesh (7 hrs / 180 kms). Spend the evening at Chopta. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 04    Chopta – Deoriatal (B, L, D)

Trek to Deoriatal and overnight stay in tents.

Day 05    Deoriatal – Harsil (B, L, D)

Trek down to Sari and drive to Harsil (260 km / 9 hrs). Arrive Harsil and check in the camp. Overnight stay in the camp.

Day 06    Harsil (B, L, D)

After breakfast, trek to Saat Tal. After lunch visit Gangotri and drive back to Harsil. Overnight stay at the camp.

Day 07    Harsil – Dhanualti (B, L, D)

Drive to Dhanualti (185 km / 6 hrs). Arrive Dhanualt and overnight stay in the camp.

Day 08     Dhanualti – Hatkoti (B, L, D)

Drive to Hatkoti (200 km / 6 hrs). Arrive Hatkoti and overnight stay in tents.

Day 09    Hatkoti – Sangla (B, L, D)

Drive to Sangla (250 km / 8 hrs). Arrive Sangla and check in the camp. Overnight stay in the camp.

Day 10    Sangla (B, L, D)

After breakfast visit Chitkul, the last village on this route on the Indo – Tibetan border. Overnight stay in the camp.

Day 11    Sangla – Tabo (B, L, D)

Drive to Spiti valley via Sumdo and proceed to Tabo (220 km / 9 hr). The rugged and rocky mountain slopes sweep down to the river beds giving the landscape a moon – like appearance.

Tabo (3050 mts) was built in 996 AD. The Chos Khor monastery at Tabo belongs to the golden period of Buddhist culture and celebrated its centennial in 1996. Overnight stay in the camp.

Day 12    Tabo – Kaza (B, L, D)

Drive from Tabo to Kaza (64 kms) via Dankar monastery. Dankar is the ancient capital of Spiti. 22 kms further is Kaza with a hill top fort, which served as a jail in the older days. A 2.5 km walk takes you to a natural lake situated at 13,500 ft. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 13    Kaza – Losar (B, L, D)

Visit Ki monastery & Kibber village. Kibber village (4,000 m) is the highest agricultural village in the world. Drive to Losar (70 kms / 4 hrs) via villages of Rangrik & Kyoto. The road passes through narrow barren valleys with bizarre rock formations and patches of green. Cross the 4,590 m high Kunzum Pass to enter Lahul. Arrive Losar and stay overnight in tents or PWD rest house.

Day 14    Losar – Manali (B, L)

As you drive to Manali (130 kms / 6 hrs), the valley widens offering an extensive alpine view on a clear day. The area holds a good population of Lammergeier or the Himalayan Bearded Vulture and other raptors. Arrive Manali and stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 15     Manali – Chandigarh (R)

Early morning departure for Chandigarh (280 km / 10 hrs). Arrive Chandigarh and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 16    Chandigarh – Delhi – Onward Destination (R)

After breakfast, drive to Delhi (250 km / 7 hrs). Arrive Delhi and transfer to the international airport to connect flight to onward destination.
